The Highwomen Add a New Spin to "Highwaymen"
The dynamic foursome, known as The Highwomen, have re-created the iconic theme song for The Highwaymen.
Made famous by Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, and Kris Kristofferson, The Highwomen worked with the song's writer, Jimmy Webb, to create a new version that took on female roles throughout.
"Highwomen", the title-track of their forthcoming album, also enlists the talents of Sheryl Crow and U.K. artist Yola. Crow plays bass and provides backing vocals, as Yola performs one of the revised versus of the song.
