National Telephone Day

Not going to lie. We will look for any excuse to play some Jason Boland & The Stragglers.

Once we heard it was National Telephone Day (no clue what that really means), we knew we had the perfect song.

In 2001, Boland released his album Pearl Snaps. Included on that album was a song titled "Telephone Romeo".

Fun fact about this song. We are not the only fans of "Telephone Romeo". Kid Rock enjoyed it so much so that he created an arrangement of if for his own album, Born Free, that was released in 2010. The song was titled "Purple Sky" and can be found here.

But back to Boland, continue below to listen to "Telephone Romeo". If you haven't heard the song before, leave us a comment and let us know what you think.

Could we dream up a reason for a rendezvous The Yanks are in town and we got nothing to do You're neighbors are gone and you're feeling alone You can't kiss somebody on the telephone

Well I just wanna drink til I'm not thirsty And I just wanna sleep til I'm not tired I just wanna drive till I run out of money I don't wanna be no Romeo on the telephone wire
