Aaron Watson Releases Lyric Video for "To Be the Moon"
Aaron Watson has released the lyric video for his
powerful song, "To Be the Moon".
In a heartfelt social media post, Watson explained how the concept for the song was created.
"I wrote this song a few years back after walking the red carpet at one of the award shows. I had a few very humbling / humiliating experiences where I kind of got treated a bit insignificant. I probably wouldn't have cared but Mrs. Watson was there by my side & naturally I wanted to look like a big shot in front of her! The whole ordeal had me feeling like an outsider and honestly, I've never felt like much of a star... it's just not me. I mean, I literally bought my suit at Men's Warehouse the night before the award show and yes it was the one they had on display in the window! Ha!😜 Anyways, I have a little friend named Hayden... he lives his life in a wheel chair and he is what some would say, "different from the other kids." But what some call different, I also call unique. Hayden is no cookie cutter kind of kid, they broke the mold when they made him! He is awesome. Hayden loves Country Music, I'm pretty certain I'm his second favorite artist just behind the lovely Maren Morris (I can't blame him cuz I love her too). Hayden texted me the day after the award show and he told me that he wanted to be a Star like me someday. I told Hayden that I wasn't a star. He then asks, "well then what are you". I jokingly replied, "I guess I'm more like the moon." To make a longer story short, that is what inspired this song. I wrote this for Hayden, myself and anyone else who has ever felt like they don't fit in or belong. It's important that we all remember that God made each one of us with special gifts and talents. I poured my heart into this song and I'm really excited to share it with you now!"
"To Be the Moon" will be included on Watson's forthcoming album, Red Bandana, which is available for pre-order now.
