Country Music Flashback: Johnny Cash

Today we have two country music flashbacks from Johnny Cash.

On this day in 1964, Ring of Fire: The Best of Johnny Cash became the first #1 album when Billboard debuted their Country Album Chart. This was Cash's sixteenth album, yet the first compilation record.

The compilation album consisted of twelve Cash songs, including the title track "Ring of Fire".

Three years later, in 1967, Johnny Cash and June Carter recorded their duet "Jackson". The song became one of Cash's most iconic songs and earned the duo a Grammy Award in 1968 for Best Country & Western Performance Duet.

Here is a clip of Johnny Cash and June Carter performing the fiery "Jackson" together.
