Aaron Watson Releases Live Album from Houston Rodeo
Aaron Watson just released his 14th studio album today.
Live at the World's Biggest Rodeo Show is Watson's first live album in over ten years. The 14-song album was recorded during Rodeo Houston. Watson, a Houston native, found the experience of performing in front of nearly 65,000 fans a "great honor".
“It’s like a golfer getting that green jacket from winning the Masters,” Watson says. “It’s just such a big deal.”
The album was actually recorded in 2017. However, once Hurricane Harvey hit the state of Texas, Watson felt it was not the appropriate time to release the album.
“Obviously when you’ve got millions of people going through such heartache and hardship that was dealt by Hurricane Harvey, our album just became very insignificant,” he says. “I honestly just thought that this was going to be an album that was never going to materialize.”
It was because of this natural disaster and Watson's loyalty to his home-state that he decided to make this a tribute album. $1.41 of each album sold will be donated to the Rebuild Texas Fund.
While the album is filled with songs previously recorded, fans will enjoy the feeling of a live show on this album.
