Chris Stapleton Proves There is Still a Place for Traditional Country Music
Our Artist of the Week, Chris Stapleton, proves people still want to hear traditional, country music. Within the past week, Chris Stapleton has been very busy. So, we are here to catch you up on every thing Chris Stapleton.
On January 25, Justin Timberlake released his latest song from the upcoming album, Man of the Woods. The song, "Say Something" features Chris Stapleton. The song is right in the wheelhouse for Stapleton. The song and video focus on the song and vocals. Gone are the electronic sounds and funky dance moves of Timberlake's other previously released songs from Man of the Woods. This bluesy, soulful, country-tone song remind us how much we love these two paired together.
This past Saturday night, Stapleton was the featured musical guest on Saturday Night Live. Stapleton performed "Midnight Train to Memphis" and "Hard Livin'". Stapleton also brought Sturgill Simpson on stage to assist with both songs.
(Also, can we take a moment to appreciate how smoking' hot Chris' wife, Morgane looked? The woman is carrying twins and still looks like a rockstar on stage!)
On Sunday, Stapleton attended the Grammys and walked away with three of the four country-genre awards. Stapleton won Country Solo Performance, Country Song, and Country Album.
Not only was Stapleton winning awards, he was also performing during the Grammys. Stapleton collaborated with Emmylou Harris to pay tribute to Tom Petty and performed "Wildflowers".
So, if that were not enough, today Stapleton announced his 2018 tour. The All American Road Show is scheduled to kick off in Brandon, Mississippi on June 16. Tickets will be go on sale February 9. Along for the tour, Stapleton is bringing Marty Stuart and Brent Cobb.
