Dierks Bentley Performs on Good Morning America
Dierks Bentley was up early this Tuesday morning. Dierks performed for the neighborhood on Riverside Drive in Austin, Texas as part of the "Good Morning America" King's Hawaiian block party contest.
"We live on the best street in the world and couldn’t be happier," Ashley Cooper, the Riverside Drive resident who submitted her block to the "GMA" contest said "GMA" today.
Bentley performed "Somewhere on a Beach" and "Black" during the event. Dierks also took time to recognize the first responders by stating, "These are the people who rush towards danger when the rest of us are running away from it," he told GMA. "Just being around these guys and these women, I have more respect for them now more than ever. In country music we’re all about our military, and rightly so. But we really need to make sure we’re taking care of and really recognizing our hometown heroes that we have amongst us."
It is obvious Dierks is fully aware of the sacrifices these first responders make. He currently co-wrote the song "Hold the Light" for the new movie "Only the Brave" which details the story of the Granite Mountain Hotshots. He has spoken several times about how important this project was to him.
